1. My final thesis statement was “If someone is not reliant on social media and rather uses it as an addition to human interaction, it can be a great way of connecting with people, learning more about yourself, and strengthening relationships you have already made through face to face interactions.” In my opinion, this thesis statement is not very strong. Joel, the writing fellow, said it was a high school thesis statement. Which he said was fine for the first paper, but, I feel like my thesis sounds to robotic.
  2. While writing paper #1 I was reminded that I really don’t like writing papers. I don’t not like writing papers because I hate writing, its the stress and second guessing that comes with writing a paper. I found myself never fully embracing a specific side of the argument and instead, I kept on asking myself if I was correct.
  3. If I could pick out one revision I did that made my paper stronger was the naysayer paragraph. I felt wit the naysayer paragraph I really moved forward my thinking during the paper. I also feel like the naysayer paragraph made me choose a side, which in the paragraph above I said was one of my weaknesses.
  4. Ways I might approach paper #2 differently is first, when I read the different essays, I would highlight a couple excerpts that I might potentially use in my essay. To follow along with that idea, I will definitely read what the prompt is for the essay way before I start to writing the paper.
