Outcome 5 (Document Work MLA)Document their work using appropriate conventions (MLA)

Before this semester, MLA format wasn’t something I fully understood. I knew it consisted of double spacing, Times New Roman, and some type of information at the top left corner of my first page. I never went out of my way to figure out what MLA format truly was because I was never penalized for formatting incorrectly or my citation errors. Overall, my teachers in the past had never put a huge emphasis on MLA formatting. However, during my first semester I quickly learned how important correct formatting and citations are in the college world.

One of the first things I learned was that I was doing in text citations a little wrong. I always thought that after I did (last name pg#) I could start a new sentence but I learned that I need a period at the end of it. This was not a huge problem, it is just something I never knew. See image below for an example in paper #3.

In this image you can see how you are supposed to correctly do in text citations.

My work cited page has also improved throughout the semester. With my first two papers I was doing it completely wrong, but in my last paper you can see a vast improvement.

For the most part, you can see that most of the information and the formatting is correct in the work cited page.
